Mothers Day Dinner

Mom loves asian food, doesn't matter what kind really, Thai is the best, but the flavors and textures is really what she's going for. So, for mothers day Riva and I joined forces and made a nice dinner from farmers market fresh goodies and random happenstance pantry stuffs.

Grilled Tuna and Beef with Spicy Garlic Ginger Sauce -

Sauce:
soy sauce 1/2 c
2 tbs honey
1 tsp fresh grated ginger
6-7 garlic cloves crushed
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp sesame sauce
blend all the ingredients together and save 1/4 of the sauce, marinade all of the meat in the sauce for 20-30 min before grilling. Keep separate through grilling.

1 lb cubed beef, a flank cut would be nice here
2 tuna steaks roughly 1 lb
Grill meat roughly 2-3 min on either side high heat sear point for rare.
let rest and finish the rest of the dishes

Celery & Onion Sautee -
1 white onion
5 ribs of celery
cut each into half moons and sauté over high heat with coconut oil
get a nice caramelization on it
cover with the rest of the marinade

Napa Cabbage, carrot, diakon radish and oyster mushroom stir fry -
this was Riva's concoction
chop all, high heat, coconut oil, dash of rice vinegar and salt
simple

Wild Rice - 2 c in the rice cooker, look at it. It's a thing of beauty, you just add the water and rice and let it do it's thing.

Diablo cookies and farm fresh berries for desert, sweet and simple.

Beautiful evening with my family and a whole lota love.
