Getting Better

Heading up to Philly this morning, I really am starting to wonder about my sanity. Looking forward to seeing my girls. Here's the reconciliation piece that made it all better. BAW, you are getting some fun & funky jewelry inspired by Istanbul.

Bad Attempt

Part of knowing your limits is knowing when to call a spade a spade. This piece was an attempt to use a beautiful crocheted garland I found in Istanbul the other night. I am too tired and out of it to function at my bench properly. I will bow out of this one by saying that it blows and I vow to salvage the piece by creating something more beautiful tomorrow.

Goodbye Turkey

I will miss this place so. It's been a wonderful experience. I'll be honest, I didn't have enough time between flights, travel to and from the airports and trying to squeeze the last little bit out of this place that I could to make a piece. I think it's ok, it's about the experience and taking time for me anyway. So, this is my time and I am taking it any way I can.

A Little Down Time

We have been running hard for 4 days now and have arrived at Erin's house for a little recharge and some quiet time. This is my cheap attempt at a pin. We talked with this carpet dealer in Goreme for about an hour the other day and he gave me this evil eye bead, + safety pin = cheap pin. It works. It's so beautiful here but I am exhausted already and the week's not over. Looking forward to more istanbul today. But not til later, now it's coffee and quiet time.

Too Much Turkish Beer

Not enough sleep. I only had two, and a glass of wine or two, but man, they are strong and I am not ready for the tour bus I have to get on for the next 5 hours. toothpick and beer cap, look, it's a pin.

A little bit of heaven

I am currently enjoying the most refreshing cup of coffee ever, (never mind it's Nescafe from a packet), and playing with toothpicks and dentil floss because materials are limited. But my mind is still soaring from the amazing ass crack of dawn hot air balloon ride we took. It was beautiful. And put so much of my life in perspective. Just a little bit of height and a lot of breathing room. Now what other adventures does the day hold?

Red Bull Gives You Wings

Let's hope they weren't lying. I just chugged one and have a taxi-bus-plane-mini-bus to catch to the middle of Turkey and I am not even sure what time it is. EARLY. Traveling light and loving every moment. Red Bull tab on my chain.
